Consignment Terms of Service

Consignment Policies:

Fee Policy:

We keep our fees simple.  It’s free to list an item on our consignment page.

  • For sales under $20 CAD, we charge a flat commission of $3.95 CAD. 
  • For sales of $20 CAD or more, you keep 80% of your sale and our commission is 20%.
  • There is an additional GST/HST on the commission fee that is paid for by the seller.
  • The GST/HST rate on the commission fee is dependent on the seller’s Province.

Once your item has been delivered and received by your buyer, the proceeds of your sale are yours. Please keep in mind that buyers do have 3 days from the delivery date to accept their purchase. If they do not accept their purchase and are pleased with their item, we will automatically release your funds on the 4th day after the delivery date. You can spend your earnings with Double R Rodeo Gear or withdraw your money as cash whenever you like by emailing us at info@rodeogear.ca.

We like simplicity. We handle the financial transaction for you (including paying credit card fees), provide you with a prepaid, pre-addressed shipping label (supporting packages up to 2.5 kg), and we will serve as your customer support team for your sale. In other words, we provide a simple end-to-end platform for selling!

Buyers are responsible for any shipping costs incurred with respect to their purchased Item. Please see Shipping Policy for details and exceptions.

Minors Policy:

For the purposes of this policy, our Terms of Service, and any other Double R Rodeo Gear policies, any individual over the age of 13 and under the age of 18 (or for Canadian residents, under the age of majority of their province or territory) is considered a “Minor.” Individuals under the age of 13 are not allowed to use Double R Rodeo Gear’s consignment services. If Double R Rodeo Gear becomes aware of a User under the age of 13, we will permanently delete their account.

Minors may only use Double R Rodeo Gear’s consignment services if they have appropriate permission and supervision from their parent or legal guardian. Double R Rodeo Gear may request additional information to verify such permission and the identity of a parent or legal guardian, including for the purpose of security and fraud prevention.

Parents or legal guardians are responsible for any and all activity conducted on a Minor’s account.

Minors should have their legal name listed on any financial account used for buying and selling, or if using that of a parent or legal guardian, minors should be listed as an authorized user.

This policy is designed to outline a Seller’s rights and responsibilities and is a part of Double R Rodeo Gear’s Terms of Service.

Sellers are responsible for reviewing and abiding by these rules as well as any applicable local laws. Violating this policy may result in restrictions to your account, up to and including termination, and may be made at the sole discretion of Double R Rodeo Gear.

Seller Fee Policy

All fees are simple and straightforward.

It’s always free to list an item for sale on Double R Rodeo Gear.

After your item sells, we deduct a small fee from the final order price. Please refer to the Fee Policy for more information.

Get Paid – Receive payment by e-transfer upon request providing buyer has accepted item or 3 days have passed and item is considered accepted by buyer

Please note, your earnings are based on the listing price and actual earnings will vary based on the final order price, Seller discounts, and any other applicable taxes and discounts.

What Can Be Sold On Double R Rodeo Gear

Double R Rodeo Gear’s used gear marketplace welcomes the sale of most types of new and pre-owned rodeo equipment, tack and western apparel with certain restrictions within these categories. Please note that not all categories or types of items may be available in your location.

For the safety of our Users, items outside of our supported categories and otherwise prohibited or unlawful items may not be offered for sale on Double R Rodeo Gear. Please review the Prohibited Items Policy to be sure you know what items can’t be listed or sold.

Listing Descriptions and Pricing

Sellers must describe items truthfully, accurately, and completely. This includes creating informative listing descriptions that include your original photos of the items and details such as the condition and any flaws or unique features. The item for sale should be clearly represented in the main photo. Avoid any photo editing techniques that may make it difficult for Buyers to accurately assess the condition of the item, such as collages or heavy special effects.

Sellers must have possession of, and ship, the actual item described in the listing. Sellers may not list a promise for a future item, or ship a “placeholder” note or item indicating the actual listed item will arrive at a future date.

Sellers must promptly answer questions and requests for additional information. Please note that images as well as descriptions provided may be reviewed and considered by Double R Rodeo Gear staff in the event of a dispute.

Sellers may price items as desired, but price gouging is strictly prohibited. Double R Rodeo Gear encourages Sellers to view similar items, whenever possible, to determine a realistic listing price likely to result in a sale. Once a Buyer accepts a listed price, a binding transaction exists and Sellers are required to provide the item(s) to a Buyer at that price. Sellers must also fulfill any and all additional requirements as detailed in this Seller Policy and our Terms. Once you accept a Buyer’s offer, a binding transaction also exists.

Order Fulfillment

Once a Buyer accepts your offer, you accept a Buyer’s offer, you must fulfill the sale. Sellers must use Double R Rodeo Gear’s provided shipping labels when fulfilling orders.

 

Buyer Policy:

As a Buyer, you will be solely responsible for reviewing the item description before making an offer, bidding, and/or purchasing. The contract to purchase will be between you and the Seller and not between you and Double R Rodeo Gear.

Double R Rodeo Gear does not physically evaluate items listed for sale and is not responsible for any item flaws or description inaccuracies. In the event of an issue with a purchase, such as an item not as described, please inform us within 3 days of delivery of the item to qualify for a refund evaluation under our program.

Purchases

Once a Buyer selects the Buy Now option for a listing or a Buyer makes an offer to purchase items that is accepted by the Seller, it will be considered a purchase and a binding contract between the Buyer and Seller. Upon purchasing an item, a Buyer must remit payment to Double R Rodeo Gear for the Item, including any listed shipping or additional fees. Double R Rodeo Gear is not an auctioneer, a Seller or a shipping carrier.

Double R Rodeo Gear reserves the right to delay or cancel any purchase for Trust and Safety purposes, including but not limited to suspected fraud and to protect Users from illegal or otherwise prohibited activities.

All purchases are final with no returns, refunds, cancellations, or retractions allowed, except where:

  1. The Buyer cancels an order within three (3) hours of purchase; or
  2. The purchase has been canceled when explicitly permitted by Double R Rodeo Gear or if applicable, a Seller; or
  3. The listing expressly indicates the availability of returns.

Upon delivery, Buyers should promptly inspect and accept the order in order to release payment to the Seller. Orders will be accepted automatically after three full days have passed unless the Buyer requests a return by reporting the issue to info@rodeogear.ca.

In the event of a dispute, Buyers approved to return an item may only do so with the prepaid shipping label provided by Double R Rodeo Gear. Buyers who make unauthorized returns are not eligible for a refund through Double R Rodeo Gear.

Payments

Buyers may pay for items only by using payment methods approved by Double R Rodeo Gear, and Double R Rodeo Gear will receive such payment from the Buyer on behalf of the Seller. By submitting payment information to Double R Rodeo Gear, you authorize Double R Rodeo Gear to store that information and with your confirmation, charge you for any items purchased. A transaction that begins on Double R Rodeo Gear may not be completed off of Double R Rodeo Gear.

Shipping Costs

Buyers are responsible for shipping costs (as detailed in the Shipping Policy incurred with respect to their purchased Item(s).

 

Consignment Return Policy:

Double R Rodeo Gear may allow you to return an Item in limited circumstances.

A Buyer may open a formal return case with us by emailing info@rodeogear.ca within seventy-two (72) hours from delivery (as determined by the tracking information on the Label) for any of the following reasons:

  • Undisclosed damage;
  • Incorrect or missing item;
  • Item not as described within the listing; or
  • Item is not authentic.

Trades, offline transactions, items that do not fit, or orders where the Buyer changed their mind do not qualify for returns. These types of purchases are considered final sale and not eligible for return.

When a return case is opened, the Buyer must upload photos and provide any additional details describing the issue as requested by Double R Rodeo Gear support. Double R Rodeo Gear will review the case, and if the request is approved, Double R Rodeo Gear will provide the Buyer with a label to return the item to the Seller. Once the return has been delivered to the Seller, the Buyer will receive a full refund.

Buyers will receive non-redeemable credits for purchases made entirely, or partially, with non-redeemable credits.

Shipping Policy:

Double R Rodeo Gear will provide the Seller with one (1) prepaid shipping label (“Label”) or QR code per order that supports shipments up to five pounds (5 lbs), to send the Item (or Items in the case of a Bundle order) to the Buyer. Double R Rodeo Gear reserves the right to discontinue providing Labels to any or all Users at any time and for any reason.

Title to the Item transfers to Buyer upon shipment.

User Responsibilities

Buyers must pay for any shipping fees as described in our Fee Policy, Buyer Policy, or as otherwise described in this Shipping Policy.

Seller will be fully responsible for contents of shipment and must comply with the Double R Rodeo Gear Terms of Service, including Prohibited Items Policy and terms and conditions of the shipping carrier.

Seller must ship the Item(s) to the Buyer within seven (7) days from the date the order was purchased (as verified by an active shipping carrier scan). If Seller does not ship the Item(s) within this timeframe, Buyer can cancel the order, and Double R Rodeo Gear will notify the Seller not to proceed with shipment.

Buyers and Sellers must maintain an accurate and up to date ship to / ship from address with Double R Rodeo Gear. Double R Rodeo Gear reserves the right to charge a User additional fees if a User does not meet any of these obligations.

Users are prohibited from using Label for any purpose other than shipping the purchased item(s) to the buyer. This includes, without limitation, altering Label from its original form or duplicate use of the same Label.

Shipping Issues

All Labels are prepaid through Double R Rodeo Gear’s account with its shipping provider. Users are encouraged to report any pre-shipment (defined as Label has been created but no acceptance scan is present as determined by the carrier tracking information) or in-transit (defined as acceptance scan is present but there is no delivery scan as determined by the carrier tracking information) issues encountered to Double R Rodeo Gear for review.

Buyer must report any post-delivery (defined as delivery scan is present as determined by the carrier tracking information) issues (including, but not limited to Unable to locate shipment, Undisclosed damage, Incorrect or missing item, Item not as described, Item is not authentic) to Double R Rodeo Gear within three (3) days after the date of delivery scan. Once Buyer confirms receipt and acceptance of Item(s) (acceptance can occur either by Buyer affirmatively notifying Double R Rodeo Gear or by taking no action within three (3) days of the date of delivery), Double R Rodeo Gear will credit Seller’s account with amount equal to purchase price, excluding taxes, Double R Rodeo Gear’s commission, and any applicable fees (the “Funds”) set forth in our Fee Policy.

Double R Rodeo Gear is not liable for damages due to improper or inadequate packaging by Seller.

Please note, we cannot guarantee shipping times or choice of carriers. While most Double R Rodeo Gear carriers offer shipping with an estimated transit time of 3 days, Double R Rodeo Gear is not responsible for carrier delays, which may be caused by a number of factors, such as weather.

Overweight Items

The Standard prepaid shipping label supports a total shipment weight of up to 5 lbs (2.5kg in Canada), which includes the weight of the box and any packaging materials. Upgraded or additional label fees for shipments over 5 lbs (or 2.5kg in Canada), up to 10lbs (5kg in Canada) must be purchased by the Seller (which may be accessed through the Accounts Tab in the Double R Rodeo Gear platform). Ten pounds (10 lbs) is the maximum shipment weight for any one (1) order. For exceptions, Sellers must contact info@rodeogear.ca. Double R Rodeo Gear reserves the right to charge Sellers for not upgrading labels or for any shipments over 10 lbs plus any applicable fees and fines.

Double R Rodeo Gear reserves the right to refuse packages over 5 lbs (2.5kg in Canada) without an upgraded label and any packages over 10 lbs (5kg in Canada) and will not reimburse additional postage paid for packages that exceed 10 lbs (5kg in Canada).

Oversize Items

As part of shipping carrier policy, the maximum combined length and girth of any box used must be no greater than 108," (2 meters for Canada) Double R Rodeo Gear reserves the right to charge Sellers for not complying.

Additional Requirements

For any avoidance of a doubt, User is responsible to ship in compliance with Canada Post's Prohibited Items Policy.

 

Prohibited Items Policy:

Double R Rodeo Gear’s marketplace welcomes the sale of most types of most types of new and pre-owned rodeo equipment, tack and western apparel with certain restrictions within these categories. For the safety of our users, items outside of our supported categories and otherwise prohibited or unlawful items may not be offered for sale on Double R Rodeo Gear. We reserve the right to remove items and content under this policy, or any other Double R Rodeo Gear policies and Terms of Service, at our sole discretion.

If you sell items on Double R Rodeo Gear, you have a critical role in preventing illegal and potentially unsafe items from appearing in our marketplace, so please be sure your items are allowed to be sold before requesting to post them. If you list prohibited items or otherwise include them as part of any transaction or shipment, Double R Rodeo Gear may remove them, and you may be subject to temporary or permanent account restrictions.

Any sales involving prohibited items may be canceled and Double R Rodeo Gear reserves the right to withhold payment. Double R Rodeo Gear also reserves the right to dispose or destroy any prohibited items that are sent to our centers.

If you’re not sure which laws may apply to you, you may wish to seek advice from a qualified professional.

If you see an item for sale on Double R Rodeo Gear that you believe may be in violation of this policy, please report it to us. We will look into it and take any necessary actions.

  1. Restricted Items

Restricted items include those that are generally allowed but must meet certain conditions in order to be considered in compliance with Double R Rodeo Gear’s policies.  Examples include but are not limited to electronics (which must be reset to factory settings if applicable and accounts disabled or signed out prior to shipping).

  1. Prohibited Items

Prohibited items are not allowed to be sold on Double R Rodeo Gear, no matter how they are presented. Users who attempt to buy or sell prohibited or otherwise illegal items risk immediate and permanent suspension from Double R Rodeo Gear, and other enforcement actions, such as withholding payments or funds.  Such items include but are not limited to Counterfeit and Infringing Products; Nudity and Explicit Content; Hateful and Violent Content

  1. Dangerous Items

Certain types of items may present an outsized risk of harm if produced, maintained, or used improperly. Oftentimes there are shipping restrictions and, in many cases, government regulations that apply to these products, so for the welfare of Double R Rodeo Gear buyers and sellers, items that may pose a hazard to health or safety are not allowed.

Be sure to check with your shipping carrier and government resources to learn what restrictions may apply to you. If you are not sure, you may wish to consult with a qualified expert in your area.

Examples include but are not limited to Food, Drugs, and Drug Paraphernalia; Hazardous Materials; Knives and Weapons; Medical Devices and Prescription Items; Recalled and Highly Regulated Items

  1. Plant and Animal Products

Plants and Seeds - Double R Rodeo Gear does not allow the sale of living or viable plants and seeds.

Animals - Do not sell live animals, eggs, or any product derived from domestic cats and dogs or endangered animal species, regardless of when it was made. Trade of animal species listed in Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) is prohibited internationally.

Human Parts - Human body parts, waste, fluids, and remains are not allowed for legal and sanitary reasons.

  1. Deceptive Content

Impersonation Items

Equipment and accessories that may enable someone to impersonate trusted figures such as current active police, military, airport, or emergency personnel are prohibited. This includes without limitation realistic-looking uniforms, badges, documents and credentials.

Medical Status Items

Medical documents, badges, and other potentially deceitful medical items are not allowed. This includes without limitation medical test results, vaccination status cards, and items designating service animals.

Misrepresented American Indian and Alaska Native Arts and Crafts

The Indian Arts and Crafts Act is a truth-in-advertising law that prohibits misrepresentation in the marketing of American Indian art and craft products within the United States. It is illegal to offer or sell any art or craft product in a manner that falsely suggests it is the product of Native American, American Indian, or Alaska Native tribes or organizations.

Stolen Items

Stolen merchandise cannot be listed or sold on Double R Rodeo Gear. Double R Rodeo Gear will cooperate with law enforcement to assist with the investigation of allegedly stolen goods, including sharing data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

  1. Unsupported Content

Please do not list items outside of qualifying types of new and pre-owned rodeo equipment, tack and western apparel . Items outside of these categories are not allowed on Double R Rodeo Gear, even if not explicitly restricted or prohibited in this Prohibited Items Policy.

 

 Authentication Policy:  We reserve the right to require proof of items authenticity.  Failure to provide adequate evidence may result in items being removed from the Site.
